impact
Impact takes intent. So, it is by choice (and intentional hiring practices) that our creative team had enough black and African American representation around them to start MRM’s very first black affinity group. I am very proud of being able to do my part in moving toward equity, but there is a daunting amount work left to do. But, every effort counts. As does every single champion.
The 3% Conference was started over a decade ago to help offset the abysmal fact that only 3% of creative leaders in this business were female. The conference turned into a movement. The 3% Movement helped shift the numbers to the 29% range. And, I was so very proud to have been one of the speakers when the Conference came to Detroit, thanks to the leadership at MRM’s commitment to equity. And to me. Sadly, the 3% Movement is now defunct, but I guarantee every person who I came across along that journey is still out there rallying for more badass ladies to lead in this business. And everywhere!

The dudes at MRM are always really good at steppin’ up. But, they outdid themselves on International Women’s Day.
